Rey Mysterio is truly the ‘King of Lucha Libre.’ He is the most popular luchador in the whole world today. For years, we’ve seen Mysterio rock the iconic traditional mask and entice us with his impeccable in-ring skills. Now, his son, Dominik is following in his footsteps. However, he doesn’t wear a mask like his father, yet.
Rey Mysterio reveals Dominik Mysterio will wear a mask in the future

During a recent interview with Alex McCarthy of TalkSport, Rey Mysterio revealed if we could see Dominik Mysterio rock a mask in the future. Mysterio did not rule out the possibility but added that Dominik must earn the mask. And in his eyes, he’s already making significant progress.
He said, “Yes, definitely, I think he has to earn it and he’s already gotten a bunch of points from me. I believe Dominik is on the path to earning the name and the mask.”
I asked Rey Mysterio about @DomMysterio35 potentially wearing a mask:
“Yes, definitely. I think he has to earn it and he’s already gotten a bunch of points from me.

This is not the first time we’ve heard of Dominik Mysterio donning a mask in the future. During a chat with Chris Van Vliet last year, Dominik revealed there have been talks of him wearing a mask and adopting a name. However, he added it would happen in the future as he gets into the traditions of Lucha Libre.
Dominik Mysterio made his WWE in-ring debut at Summerslam this year in a losing effort against Seth Rollins. However, his match with Rollins earned him a lot of praise. This kickstarted his career as a full-time professional wrestler. Or shall we say WWE Superstar?

Since debuting at Summerslam, Dominik hasn’t looked back once. He and Rey Mysterio continued to team at regular intervals and zeroed in on the SmackDown Tag Team Championships earlier this year. The duo finally won the titles at WrestleMania Backlash and became the first-ever father-son tag team champions in not just WWE, but pro-wrestling history!
