During his lengthy undefeated streak, he faced off against some of the toughest in the business. His list of victims included Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Jimmy Snuka, Jake ‘The Snake Roberts, CM Punk, and John Cena, to name a few. However, his undefeated streak was first broken by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, then later by Roman Reigns.
On this list of victims, lays Jake Roberts. Roberts was infamous for his drug and alcohol addiction. Speaking on DDP Snake Pit, Roberts revealed how his decision to stay sober was once mocked by several superstars. However, one man came to his defense, The Undertaker.

Roberts said, “At some point, we went to Europe and The Undertaker heard them getting on me pretty hot and heavy, calling me ‘pu**y,’ ‘you used to be a fu***ng man,’ this, that and the other.”
He continued, “The Undertaker used to sleep under the bus while we ran down the road. So he had the bus pull over and he got up and cut a promo in my favor. He told them, ‘Guys, you don’t want him to be the guy he used to be. He’ll kill every fu*king one of you.’”
The Undertaker was one of the most well-respected legends, and him standing up for his colleague and friend was a true gentlemanly move.
The Undertaker left his NBA contract to pursue a career as a pro wrestler
The Deadman has rightfully earned his place as a legend on the roster. He was inducted into the 2022 class of the WWE Hall of Fame by Vince McMahon. Speaking on an episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, he revealed how he left his NBA contract to become a wrestler.

He played for the Texas Wesleyan University Rams from 1985 to 1986 and European basketball scouts were interested in him. Texas Wesleyan coach Richard Hoogendoorn stated to Bleacher Report that a particular European scout was interested in him playing for a team in France for $80,000 annually.

A salary of $80,000 was impressive because, during those times, the average salary in the NBA was $70,000. Although The Undertaker missed out on that opportunity, it led to Mark Calaway conquering new heights in pro wrestling by becoming The Phenom.
