“He Even Made One of Our Referees Cry”: WWE Legend Once Unmasked Brock Lesnar for Bullying Officials and Ring Crew Behind the Cameras

Do you remember Seth Rollins’ face as Brock Lesnar was revealed to be his next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship in 2015? That segment had the then-champion leave the ring meekly as The Beast Incarnate took the stage. Lesnar clearly intimidated The Visionary as he stalked him inside the ring before the latter fled.

Fast forward eight years and that feeling about Lesnar hasn’t changed. If anything at it, Lesnar has become more intimidating. While you may think that it’s all kayfabe, according to a WWE legend, the 45-year-old is just as menacing behind the scenes. And Lesnar has been like this since his time in the developmental territory.

Jim Cornette exposes Brock Lesnar’s scare tactics at Ohio Valley Wrestling

Former WWE employee Jim Cornette is one of the coaches who worked with Lesnar at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). The 61-year-old witnessed the former WWE Heavyweight Champion’s growth from a close quarter. Cornette once revealed how a young Brock Lesnar picked on people he thought were not up to his level.

“He would bully the referees, and he’d bully the ring crew. He even made one of our referees cry one time,” Cornette said in one of the episodes of ‘The Jim Cornette Experience’ podcast. [h/t: Pro Wrestling Stories]

“Still, anybody that he felt was below him, the water boy on the team, you get the idea, a college jock, he would f***ing belittle and berate,” he added.

The former coach reiterated that Lesnar displayed respect to his coaches, although on one instance Lesnar made Cornette angry.

Jim Cornette wanted to use a gun on Brock Lesnar

At OVW, Lesnar also wrestled Cornette’s then-girlfriend and now-wife Synn. During one such match, he purposely hurt the female wrestler, despite being warned prior to it, according to the 61-year-old.

After Synn complained of pain, she and Lesnar got into a heated exchange involving cuss words. This led to Cornette’s involvement and during the salvo, Lesnar reportedly said “f*** you” to Synn. This angered Cornette so much that he threatened to shoot the young wrestler.

The OWV coach said that Lesnar was under the impression that he could get away with his tantrums without getting confronted. He also said that although it’s difficult to fight the 45-year-old due to his massive size if the wrestler messes with the wrong people, they are going to pull out a gun and shoot him.

It looks like Lesnar didn’t learn from that incident at all as he once threw his belt at Vince McMahon after a fight. This infuriated Shane McMahon, who deemed the gesture an insult to his father. The junior McMahon wanted to confront Lesnar, though fans are free to choose who would have won that round if things got to that level.
