Vince McMahon has been close friends with quite a few wrestlers over the years. Some of these names include Brock Lesnar, Ric Flair and The Undertaker. The former WWE CEO is also good friends with John Cena, WWE’s poster boy for over a decade.
Ric Flair and Cena both have been icons of pro wrestling and both share their love and respect for McMahon. Flair recently gave an intriguing take on the friendship between Cena and McMahon.

Recently, McMahon celebrated his 77th birthday with his close friends which included Brock Lesnar, WWE commentator Pat McAfee and one time ‘Franchise Boy’ John Cena.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair wasn’t among the attendees, though, a fact that he expressed in a lighthearted manner while also poking fun at McMahon’s friendship with Cena.
Flair thinks Vince McMahon is possessive of Cena
While speaking on his ‘To Be The Man’ podcast, Flair questioned his absence from McMahon’s party in a fun way.
The Naitch said, “Why wasn’t I invited to his [Vince McMahon] birthday party? What in the hell [laughs]. I don’t think he thinks I can be – what’s the word I use with him – I’ll be discreet.
In addition to this, ‘The Nature Boy’ also said that he is McMahon’s biggest fan, while joking that the former WWE Chairman is possessive of Cena around him.
The two time WWE Hall of Famer said, I should have been at that party though. Damn it, come on. I’m his biggest fan, even though he doesn’t like John [Cena] to be around me,”
It is well known that Cena is close with his former boss and values him as a mentor.
The Cenation leader once said, “Vince McMahon, to me, is more than anyone could realize. He’s a close friend, a mentor, a father figure. He means a tremendous amount to me. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to conceptualize how much I love him and how much he means to me.”
McMahon is close to certain wrestlers in WWE. Apart from Cena, McMahon also has a special bond with Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.
Ric Flair and John Cena are tied for the record number of World Championships
Flair and Cena are both 16-time world champions and are tied for the most number of world titles won. While Flair won his titles across NWA, WCW and WWE, all of Cena’s world titles have come from WWE.
Both are in a league of their own and have accomplished a lot. ‘The Nature Boy’ recently wrestled his last match in pro wrestling, but there is always a chance of Cena, still physically fit, returning and having a go at number 17.

Regardless of who breaks that records, both their legacies will remain intact and forever etched in the memory of fans.
