Ever since Triple H took charge of the WWE’s creative, the promotion has undergone significant changes. Triple H didn’t shy away from making some bold moves regarding the creative direction. He receives both praise and criticism for this. However, one of his recent booking decision regarding WrestleMania 39 didn’t sit well with the fans.
The one term wrestling fans are well aware of is burying. It signifies that the company deliberately tries to reduce some wrestlers’ fame and influence by making them look like a loser. In WWE’s history, there are many instances of booking wrestlers poorly in order to bury them.
The reasons behind this vary widely. Sometimes, it’s because the wrestlers sometimes fall out of the good side of the company or their gimmick gets unpopular day by day. However, contrary to what everyone may think, it’s not the case that applies to Brock Lesnar. At least, this former WCW star says so while defending the infamous booking of WrestleMania 39.

Disco Inferno defends the controversial Lesnar vs Omos booking at WrestleMania
Triple H’s booking for WrestleMania 39 as WWE’s chief content officer includes some unexpected moves. One of them was Brock Lesnar vs Omos. After changing plans several times, WWE officially booked Lesnar to face the 28-year-old Nigerian star, Omos at The Show of Shows. Ever since the news broke out, many fans criticized the decision and displayed their frustration with the underwhelmed idea. There was also doubt in fans’ minds regarding whether the WWE is purposely trying to bury Lesnar.
Recently appearing on Keepin’ It 100 percent official YouTube channel, former WWE star Disco Inferno dismissed the doubt. He noted, ”Brock’s done. He’s 40-something years old. He’s coming back and now he’s putting guys over to try to elevate guys. There’s nothing wrong with that. He’s not getting buried. All Brock cares about is the money. He does business for everybody. He doesn’t care if he goes over. This guy fought in the UFC for real. He doesn’t care about doing a job [losing].”
Inferno is not the only one to defend the booking. Previously Enzo Amore also supported the idea through a Twitter post labeling it a money match.
However, the wrestling promotion had various plans for Lesnar ahead of WrestleMania 39.
WWE had several other plans regarding Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania spot
WWE had many plans regarding Brock Lesnar’s spot in the upcoming WrestleMania. Initially, Steve Austin was offered to face Lesnar on the biggest stage. However, Austin declined the offer due to the lack of money offered.
Even much before that, there was a plan for Lesnar vs Lashley match-up in the Mania, considering their unfinished heated feud at Crown Jewel 2022. But they later moved this feud to Elimination Chamber 2023 for keeping an open door for a potential Austin vs Lesnar match at WrestleMania. But that didn’t prove to be the case either.
There was also some discussion regarding Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt’s match before it failed to materialize. Gunther was also on the list of potential opponents for the 45-year-old.
