The Rock and Cody Rhodes have half-settled their issues through the display of mutual respect on Raw after WrestleMania. However, one should not get fooled, thinking of it as a permanent state of being because it is not. The Rock’s gentle threat to Rhodes about their unfinished story was enough to prompt the viewers to see what’s coming next.

Now, as the single match between the Final Boss and The American Nightmare is almost confirmed, Rhodes’ took another slight shot at his Mania opponent.

The exchanges between Rhodes and The Rock have been a captivating talking point in the WWE Universe for a while. In the pre-WrestleMania session, the duo trading barbs on the weekly shows kept fans hooked for more. Finally, the drama came to a halt after The Rock defeated Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. But there is more to the story as The Rock kept the air of animosity alive with the “story has just begun” threat. Amidst this dynamic, Rhodes pointed out a major flaw in The Rock’s level of perceiving fan’s emotions.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Rhodes divulged, ”I’ve given a lot of respect to The Rock. Certainly will continue to do so. But I think he didn’t know really who I was as a player. And I think in that moment, he saw, geez, they’re all doing the whoa. He signed autographs on his way down here. It’s a different type of individual than perhaps he maybe saw a picture online at once.”
