“Have a Really Hot Story” – Jim Cornette Heaps Praise on WWE for Making Smart Use of Cody Rhodes To Ignite Old Friendship

WrestleMania 39, is nearly two weeks away. One of the major attractions on the card is obviously the monumental Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns main event match. Wrestling Universe currently divides over the upcoming title fight between the two of the greatest stars of the company.

The American nightmare was a part of AEW till his return to Stanford’s company during WrestleMania 38. The biggest motivation behind this was his childhood dream of winning a WWE Championship for his father, Dusty Rhodes. He kept his word and moved one step ahead to reach his destination after clinching the horrific win at Royal Rumble 2023 to book a sure spot at WrestleMania 39 against the top of the table, Roman Reigns.

Many fans think that the coveted undisputed WWE Universal Championship title of the Tribal Chief is at stake as Rhodes makes a perfect man destined to take down his crown. The notion emerges largely because of the compelling storyline WWE made. But it was not something emerging from the company’s creative heads. It’s solely based on the real emotion of a son toward his late father.

Quoting the storyline as ‘once in a while’, former WWE manager Jim Cornette noted, ‘”a great segment breaks out over in the WWE, everything is more controlled. But now that they actually have a really hot story and a few people in it that can produce, you know, you get some great stuff out of this. Again they started with Cody the big star, opening up a network program, FOX Network and the story is simple… Can he bring it to the 929-day reign of the Champion Roman Reigns and finish his story and win the title for his daddy? And this is the best thing WWE has done in years because it’s real.”‘

Referring to the last week’s epic SmackDown episode where Cody Rhodes cut a promo with an attempt to bring Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens together, Cornette continued praising Rhodes’ ability as a mediator behind reviving an old friendship. ‘

Cody Rhodes is the peacemaker to bring Sami and Owens together. And I am not even being a smart ad because if you… anybody who understands anything about wrestling would’ve known that this was gonna happen pretty immediately, which is why I said it, because that’s the only way they could have done it.,’ Cornette added.

Following the promo, it seems like the Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes trio showed much potential to take down the Bloodline reign.

There are a lot of reasons that make them seem perfect for forming an official trio. The first and foremost one is they have a long record of working together. Especially, Zayn and Owens have incredible past alliances both as partners and opponents. The second goes to their undeniable ability and talent as professional wrestlers. With Cody Rhodes being a super-gifted talent on the roster, Zayn and Owens are no less. Their phenomenal performances over the years backed it up.

While both Owners and Zayn tried to dethrone Bloodline separately in the past, they never succeeded. This time Cody Rhodes’ presence and involvement could be the final push for them to reach the goal. Especially considering the Bloodline’s visible weaknesses in recent days, it seems more obvious.
