Survivor Series and CM Punk‘s return to WWE are already a few weeks old. However, the discussion of his arrival is still hot. According to a former WWE employee, things will stay ‘hot’ for a long time because of the fan sentiment surrounding the star’s return to the Stamford-based company.

The ex-WWE personality in question is Eric Bischoff. Despite what he initially thought about CM Punk’s potential return to the promotion, Bischoff has changed his mind. Now, he believes that this is going to prove to be a good business move for the wrestling promotion.

While the news about Punk’s return was still a rumor, Eric Bischoff shared his honest opinions on the matter. On his podcast 83 Weeks, Bischoff confessed that he doesn’t believe WWE needs the former AEW star back in the promotion again. Now, in another episode of the same podcast, he confessed a changed opinion on the wrestler’s status in WWE.

While talking about Punk’s return to WWE on the latest edition of 83 Weeks, the 68-year-old confessed that he thinks it is a great decision for both the wrestler and the promotion. However, if CM Punk finds himself amidst another controversy, it could be troublesome for him.

If he keeps his act together and maintains a professional approach to this, he’s going to be hotter than he ever was. Hats off to him. Hats off primarily to WWE because they’re doing it right,” said Eric Bischoff during the podcast episode.

The Former General Manager of Raw isn’t the only WWE personality who appreciates this decision from the company’s end. In fact, Shawn Michaels also has a similar opinion regarding the subject.

When the rumors were still around about Punk’s WWE return, unlike Eric Bischoff, Shawn Michaels said that he would welcome him with open arms in NXT any day. Even though he believed that The Best in the World would end up rejoining the main roster, he said he would be there if things went south.
