The anticipation for the main event of WrestleMania XL was through the roof. Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes faced each other for the second year in a row with the WWE Universal Championship on the line. And the American Nightmare finally emerged victorious. Several superstars are congratulating the new champion and one of them is Ric Flair, who took to Twitter to share his good wishes with Rhodes. However, he did reveal that he was not a big fan of the interferences in the match. Flair tweeted, “Congrats @CodyRhodes & @WWERomanReigns For Providing One Of The Most Athletic And Believable Main Events That I’ve Seen In A Long Time. I Hate The Interference, But It All Played Out In Your Favor And It Made The Show More Enjoyable To Watch. I Respect You Both. Thankful To Know You! Cody, You Finally Lived Your Dad’s Dream! Love You All! WOOOOO! -Naitch”

The interferences in question would be the ones featuring team bloodline vs. the unexpected team Cody Rhodes, as two legends of pro wrestling joined Jey Uso and Seth Rollins as they made their return to help the American Nightmare win the championship.

Speculation had run rampant about the plethora of surprises that awaited WWE fans in the main event of Night 2. The main event entered a new phase with Jimmy Uso’s interruption, which was answered by Jey Uso, who quickly attacked his brother and applied a Spear from the top of the entrance ramp. Following this, Solo Sikoa made an appearance and connected a Samoan Spike to Rhodes. However, John Cena came out to offer his services and he did so in a stylish fashion as he hit an Attitude Adjustment to Sikoa at the commentary table.

When Cena looked like he had the ring clean for the former AEW star to end the match, The Rock appeared and confronted John Cena, reminiscing about the old days, and hit him with Rock Bottom. Seth Rollins followed, wearing his The Shield attire, as he also tried to help Rhodes. However, he was saddled in the back by Reigns, a clever reference to what happened to the faction in 2014. Finally, the last to appear was The Undertaker. He definitively cleaned the ring by hitting a choke slam to The Rock. After all this, Rhodes set out to end the match by applying three Cross Rhodes, thus ending Roman Reigns’ legendary reign of more than 1316 days. He finally completed his story as he became the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
