Red did manage to appear in this edition of Battleground. She made her presence known in the opening segment of the show while also making appearances in some backstage segments. She also joined Trick Williams to celebrate his successful title defense against the number one contender for the NXT Championship, Ethan Page.
The hip-hop superstar shot to international fame for her song Pound Town in 2023. This allowed her to collaborate with big names in today’s music industry, such as Nicki Minaj, SZA, and Drake. WWE announced her appearance on Battleground a few weeks ago on the brand’s weekly show, where she made her first appearance. Her being on the wrong side of the law might have put a dent in a very successful appearance at the NXT PLE. However, that does not look to deter the Stamford-based promotion as they look to capitalize on her star power. What do you make of the WWE’s stance on Sexxy Red’s future in the promotion?
