Seth Rollins overcame a challenge from AJ Styles at Night of Champions to win the newly unveiled WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Since becoming the champion, The Visionary has had over half a dozen title defenses in a little over a month’s time. It proves worth the belt carries, as several of his peers want a piece of the gold. But not LA Knight.

The 40-year-old has revealed a bigger and better champion than Rollins and is looking to target the superstar.

LA Knight will be one of the seven superstars competing in the men’s ladder match at Money In The Bank. The PLE will take place at The O2 arena in the United Kingdom’s London on July 1. The specialty of the ladder match is the coveted briefcase, which contains a contract. The paper inside allows the winner to cash in the contract against any title holder.

Knight has the chance to be a champion and is a fan favorite to win it. A favorable result will give him the chance to encash his contract against WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther, WWE United States Champion Austin Theory, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, and the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. With Reigns, Knight, or any other challenger is set to gain two titles- The WWE Championship and the WWE Universal Championship.

The 40-year-old, naturally, is looking to challenge Reigns. But it’s not just for the titles alone. In a chat with Chris Van Vliet, the wrestler disclosed why he envisions going after Reigns as opposed to the others.

“I don’t know, there’s so many options. You’ve got that brand new World Heavyweight Championship, and that’s a beautiful piece of gold,” he said, paying his respect to Rollins’ title, but then added, “But at the same time, what’s bigger and better than being the WWE Champion?”

“Being the guy that disrupted years of a title reign. Something to talk about there,” he added. So Knight is looking to go after Reigns’ legacy. The 38-year-old current champion has been in possession of the belts for over 1000 days now. No other wrestler has had such an extended run in the new millennium.

Meanwhile, both Rollins and Reigns will be on show at MITB.

Why is LA Knight’s choice technically safe?

All three wrestlers- Knight, Rollins, and Reigns will contest in London this weekend. Knight, as mentioned above, will go up against Damian Priest, Butch, Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, Santos Escobar, and Logan Paul for the briefcase.

Reigns will partner Solo Sikoa and take on The Usos in a historic tag-team match that’ll feature Anoa’i members facing one another in WWE after 39 years. Rollins will defend his belt against archrival Finn Balor. Balor has already planned retribution against his opponent for causing him to sit out for a year previously.

But why is Knight’s choice technically sound and, to an extent, safe? Well, Reigns is not defending his belt, while Rollins is. So one never knows if Rollins will drop it to Balor. Not that it’ll render the belt any less valuable, but the change of hands will make the opponent a moving target. On the other hand, with Reigns, Knight can prepare better as an opponent.
