As of today, Joe Hendry is one of the most popular wrestlers in the world of professional wrestling. This caused the video of his first appearance in NXT as part of the Battle Royal to determine Trick Williams’ challenger at Heatwave 2024 to be one of the most watched so far this year. He has subsequently reappeared in WWE’s developmental territory as Trick’s partner to face current NXT Champion Ethan Page and Shawn Spears.
In statements given in an interview for Fightful, the wrestler confirmed that his appearance in NXT was a last-minute decision. Something that he appreciates since this type of spontaneous moment allows him to have a more natural reaction and not an overacted one. Over the past few weeks, with the high popularity that Hendry has brought to WWE, speculation has begun about the possibility that in the coming months he will sign a deal with WWE and join the company full-time. His appearances have led to an even greater increase in his fame and made him one of the most prominent wrestlers of the moment. Now, it seems like this might’ve actually happened, or is at least in the process.
Has Joe Hendry signed with the Stamford-based promotion?

Following his appearance in NXT this week, the roster section on WWE’s official website was updated with an image showing Joe Hendry making his entrance. Although this image is merely decorative and does not have the same format as the rest of the photos of WWE Superstars who are currently under contract, it is curious that the company has allowed the inclusion of the image of a wrestler who, at the moment, is not officially on its roster. But with the current TNA and WWE collaborations, Hendry’s working like somewhat of a freelancer. Something that would not satisfy the thirst of WWE fans, as they want the best to be a part of their promotion.

However, for that to happen, we will have to wait for a while. Even though Joe Hendry seems to be a perfect fit for the NXT roster, he is currently still under contract with TNA. At the moment, it does not seem that Joe Hendry is going to leave the ranks of TNA wrestling. At Slammiversary, the pay-per-view event to be held on July 20, he will be part of a six-way battle for the company’s World Championship. Also fighting in that bout will be champion Moose, Josh Alexander, Nic Nemeth, Frankie Kazarian, and Steve Maclin. In fact, his opponents in TNA too wouldn’t want him to leave the promotion, as they themselves have become fans of the superstar. Going as far as comparing him to John Cena.

Joe Hendry has become one of the most popular wrestlers in the world of professional wrestling. Provoking great reactions in his, so far, two appearances in WWE, the largest professional wrestling company. Now, a fellow wrestler in TNA wrestling has publicly praised him. He said, “Joe is a very hard worker, and everything he’s getting right now he 100% deserves. I tell Joe all the time—I’m almost like Joe’s little coach in his head—I tell him all the time, ‘You’re on the cusp; you’re in the cusp of being the next John Cena. So just keep trucking and keep hitting wood. You know, you’re right there.’ I mean, he’s right there to be like the next John Cena. I’m so very happy for him, and it just shows that hard work pays off.”
It should be noted that Hendry and Moose will be in the same match at TNA Wrestling’s next pay-per-view, Slammiversary 2024. So it takes real talent to make your opponents praise you before you have a match for their title. Something that proves why WWE fans want Hendry in their ranks. What do you think?
