There have been months since the Second City Saint hasn’t laced up his boots for a whole match on WWE TV due to a torn triceps injury. That said, he’s still heavily involved in the ongoing storylines and continues to bring his infectious energy to the fold. After costing Drew Mclntyre his newly clinched World Heavyweight Champion in a ferocious move on Mania Night 2, CM Punk again showed up at tonight’s Raw and added to the Scotsman’s misery. Are these back-to-back savage antics somehow suggesting a complete recovery from the injury and a potential return to a full WWE match? Let’s explore the possibility.
CM Punk’s current injury update: Revealed
Drew Mclntyre faced another blow tonight as Punk again got in his way. He partook in a fatal four-way match alongside Big Bronson Reed, Ricochet, and Jey Uso to earn a shot at Damian Priest’s World Heavyweight Championship. In a shocking turn of events, Punk showed up and handed an epic distraction to the Scottish Warrior, allowing Jey Uso to pin and clinch the win.

Shortly after the show, Punk took center stage alongside Jey Uso and assured fans that the next time he steps into The City of Brotherly Love, he will have his boots laced on. So it was an obvious message that he will be medically cleared to wrestle shortly.
Also, during WrestleMania Night 2, after being done with repeated jibes and taunts, Punk knocked Drew Mclntyre across the table and took off his protective cast to lay more strikes into him. So, it also implies that his injured tricep is on the mend, and an in-ring return might be the next on the card. While the exact timeline is still unknown, the Seventh City Saint has high hopes.
CM Punk seems ‘casually optimistic‘ about a rumored WWE TV return
CM Punk has had enough of bad luck related to injury for the last couple of years. This year, back in Royal Rumble, the 45-year-old delivered a praiseworthy performance, ending it as the runner-up. But he tore his tricep in the process and, as a disappointing consequence, missed out on WrestleMania. Speaking on The MMA Hour, the former WWE champion weighed in on his return timeline.
‘‘I think at this point, it’s more of a business decision. Not to spoil anything, this one is night and day from this one [the injured arm to the healthy arm] for a myriad of different reasons. I’m recovering really, really well. So, cautiously optimistic that it’s gonna be half the time as the left one. And like I said, I got something to come back to.” he noted.

It will be exciting to see him get back in the ring at the soonest and finally get a grudge match against Drew Mclntyre, probably around SummerSlam in August.
