Kurt Angle has done it all in the pro-wrestling industry. The man who won a gold medal in Olympics would never have thought that his career will go in this direction. He not only wrestled in WWE but went around more companies to wrestle and made a name everywhere for himself.

Now after retirement, Angle runs his venture in the nutrition industry and also appears on various interviews and podcasts. He makes sporadic appearances on RAW and SmackDown often. Angle also has his own show on YouTube, The Kurt Angle Show.

Recently, Kurt Angle on his show alongside Paul Bromwell discussed his first exit from WWE in 2006. Paul asked Angle about his media appearances when he joined TNA in 2006 and was he in his state of mind to do media appearances.

Angle said, “No I wasn’t, I shouldn’t have been doing media appearances. I still was bitter at WWE. Most of my conversations with the media were about WWE instead of TNA.

Angle also added, “And the reason I was there was to promote TNA. So I wasn’t in the right state of mind at that particular time.”

It wasn’t a good time for Kurt Angle as he wanted a new start and all he was being asked about was WWE and Vince McMahon instead of TNA.

WWE sends a legal letter  to Kurt Angle

When Kurt Angle signed with TNA with a hope of starting fresh and do it all again and better, he got a legal letter from WWE. As all fans are aware, WWE trademarks everything a wrestler does in the company. Similar happened with Kurt Angle back in 2006.

Angle said, “Oh come on it’s WWE, they trademark everything.” 

Kurt Angle recalled getting prohibited him from using the words like ankle lock. He could not say his catchphrase, “It’s Damn True” and “You Su*k” in TNA. Also, he could not use and write anywhere on his gear his then monicker of “The Wrestling Machine” 

He also added, “That’s WWE. They have always done that and they always will do that and will always protect their assets.”

When Angle debut, his move, the Angle Slam, was called as Olympic Slam back then. The Olympic Committee wanted royalties from WWE whenever they use the word Olympic.

They later started calling the move Angle Slam. Kurt Angle recalled a moment where Michael Cole was on the commentary on RAW and slammed Olympic Committee. Cole said the word Olympic 26 times throughout the show.

It is unclear to Angle whether it costed a fine for the company, but Cole in this way showed his disappointment with the Olympic Committee.
