Former WWE Champion Randy Orton has been missing in action for over 17 months now. Orton was last seen during a RAW episode in May 2022 when he fought The Usos with Matt Riddle. Since then, fans have been speculating about his return while Orton and WWE have failed to give any definite answer on his update.

But, WWE Hall of Famer has revealed major updates on Orton’s health and return. However, he believes that there is some mental struggle regarding another injury scare.

Ric Flair reveals major update on Randy Orton’s mental struggle

WWE’s two-time Hall of Famer and WWE legend Ric Flair was invited to Chris Van Vliet’s podcast. In the video uploaded on YouTube on October 10th, The Nature Boy discussed various things related to wrestling, his personal life, and his future. In one of the segments, he talked about his former Evolution stable-mate, Randy Orton.

Orton has been missing in action for over 17 months now as he is recovering from a spinal surgery. While discussing Orton’s medical condition, Flair dropped a major update on his return. He said, “Randy’s coming back, I think. I saw him. I think he’s contemplating it. But you know there again he’s had that back injury. You know, how it always, takes you a while.

Flair was confident that Orton would return to in-ring action soon. Flair also revealed that Orton is contemplating the back injury he suffered in May of last year. Orton was going through another major run with Matt Riddle as the pair of RK-Bro was on the fly.

 

Flair further gave his assessment of Orton’s situation. He believes that the back injury has now become a mental thing for Orton. He said, “You hurt your back man, it’s one of those things that then it becomes a mental thing.“Flair gave an example from his life and said that he recovered from a similar injury he suffered from a plane crash.

Randy Orton’s return from injury is still unclear.

Will Randy Orton return to wrestling after his injury?

It is not sure when Orton will make his return but fans speculated an early return after he was seen visiting WWE Performance Center. Orton had started weightlifting in the gym earlier this year, but the purpose of his visit is not known yet.

A few months back, Orton’s father Bob Orton stated that Randy does not need to get back in the ring after a career spanning two decades. He has achieved everything in the company now but The Viper has other ideas.
