Over the years, we have seen WWE superstars overcoming their various health issues. Recently, WWE’s first-ever Royal Rumble Winner “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan finally completed his cancer treatment successfully.
He announced the news on his Instagram with an emotional video with the caption, “I Rang That BELL!!”. He took the victory lap and was filled with joy while sharing this message with his fans and family.

In the video, Hacksaw Jim Duggan said, “For 8 weeks I’ve been coming by, looking at this bell, listening to the other folks coming by and ringing the bell. I’ve been looking forward to it.”
He thanked all the doctors, nurses, friends, technicians at the hospital for helping him to beat cancer. Moreover, he gave a special thanks to his wife and daughters and paid gratitude to all the fans who shared their support.
Duggan rang the triumphant bell while saying, “After 8 weeks, here we go, tough guy.” Also, he did his trademark thumbs up pose.

However, this was not the first time Duggan had cancer. Back in 1998 doctors diagnosed him with kidney cancer. But, he soon returned in 1999, where Duggan wrestled with WWE, WCW, TNA, and the indies.
Further, Duggan announced last year in October about being diagnosed with prostate cancer and by December 2021, he was almost cancer-free and needed eight months’ treatment. Shockingly, the cancer was back in March 2022. Even so, he stayed tough during this time and beat cancer once again with sheer perseverance.
How long was Hacksaw Jim Duggan in WWE?
Hacksaw Jim Duggan is one of the most memorable wrestles in WWE. The fans remember him for the character of an American patriot who uses a 2×4 length of wood as a weapon. Moreover, there were the battle cry “Hooo!” and the U-S-A! cheer.

He signed a WWE contract in 1987 and made his first major appearance at WrestleMania 3. The WWE fans back then were all over his persona. They too shouted “Hooo” while he entered the ring.
Seeing the way Duggan’s presence ran quickly on the fans, WWE gave him a major push. The company introduced the Royal Rumble match in 1988. Hacksaw entered at number 13 spot and won the match after elimination of One Man Gang.

Furthermore, he left WWE after six years and wrestled in WCW for a while. Duggan made sporadic returns between 2005 to 2012 in WWE. As of today, he is under a legends contract with WWE. Moreover, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.
