Grayson Waller Fails to Take a Page Off Dwayne Johnson’s Playbook, as Their Ongoing Feud Escalates

Grayson Waller’s obsession with Dwayne Johnson doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. At this point, he may even force The Rock to make his return and lay the SmackDown on him. On the latest edition of SmackDown, Waller faced off against Jey Uso in a one-on-one match. 

Although Waller failed to earn his first-ever singles win, he did not miss the chance to take another dig at Dwayne Johnson mid-match. The Australian wrestler then took to social media to rub it in. At this point, Waller seems relentless with his digs at The Great One. 

Grayson Waller imitates Dwayne Johnson’s iconic People’s Elbow

Grayson Waller is conspicuously making a career by mocking the wrestling legends. A few weeks ago, the 33-year-old was successful in getting a response from Dwayne Johnson after mocking his debut outfit from 1996. Johnson further traded barbs with Waller, calling him an “Outback Jackoff”. But his response was not enough to silence Waller. 

During his match against Jey Uso on SmackDown, Waller delivered a spine-buster and found himself in the position to deliver the People’s Elbow. Waller, like The Rock, removed his elbow pad before running the ropes. In addition, he added his own spin to the move, doing jumping lunges before dropping the elbow.

Ultimately, he found nobody home as Jey Uso moved out of the way. After the match, Waller took to Twitter and tweeted the clip from his match and wrote, “Main Event Waller” and “Hi Dwayne”.

While the bravado of Waller intrigued the WWE Universe, he always ends up finding himself on the losing side of every match. His first-ever win on the main roster is yet to come. But Waller is visibly proud of his performances, despite his losses.

We will have to wait and see if Dwayne Johnson bothers to respond this time. Nonetheless, Waller recently broke his silence on why he likes to take shots at WWE legends.

Dwayne Johnson is not alone on the list of WWE legends that Grayson Waller has taken digs at. The likes of John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin have also been in the crosshairs of Waller. 

During an interview with Ariel Helwani of the MMA Hour, Grayson Waller revealed that he only mocks the WWE legends to express his respect for them. According to him, it would be a waste of his character if he acted like a fan. He said, “These are my favorite wrestlers, but I’m on their level now and it does nothing for me to still act like a fan.”

Judging by what he said, Waller is probably showing respect to Dwayne Johnson. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It’s unlikely that The Rock will make his return anytime soon, but Waller will come face-to-face with The Great One someday.
