“Got Back to Taker”: WWE Superstar Who Brock Lesnar Nearly Killed Opens Up on Issues With The Undertaker

The Undertaker was known for his loyalty beyond everything else, to his profession as a wrestler and his ominous demeanor. He has shown loyalty toward his loved ones as well as the company for 30 years. 

Notably, a former WWE star once noted how the friction between him and Taker’s best friend was the precursor to his indirect altercation with The Deadman. Additionally, in conversation with RF videos, former WWE star Zach Gowen reveals how he got involved in the heat with Taker.

Talking to the RF video when he was asked about how the animosity between him and Taker ignited. He replied that while he didn’t have a direct conflict with the Taker; he did have it with Jim Duggan. Conjointly, the friendship between Taker and Duggan contributed to the tension between The Deadman and Gowen.

Gowen and Duggan’s miscommunication caused conflict with The Undertaker

He further discusses the origins of the conflict between Duggan and him in the same interview. He talks about how they were not initially unfriendly towards one another. In contrast, they first began by complimenting each other, but a misunderstanding caused a rift to form between them.

In his words, “The thing with Jim Duggan was he was at the show. I was at the show. We did the show together, and he came up to me. He’s like you know. Hey Zack, I’m Jim Duggan.”

“You know, and like hey I respect what you’re doing. You know what I, mean, like you doing a good thing. I’m like, wow, Jim Duggan thanks, man. That’s really cool. That’s so nice of you.”

He went on to explain that when Duggan complimented him, he was at a loss for words. He then asked him how he felt about the WCW using his cancer, claiming that Duggan misunderstood what he said. As Taker heard of this, it ignited an indirect animosity between the two.

Gowen spent just a brief time in the business, but during that time he engaged in multiple on- and off-stage altercations with superstars like The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar.
