John Cena is a legend in the world of wrestling. And just like other great superstars did in their day, the 16-time world champion made a transition from WWE to Hollywood. And today he is more settled in his role as an actor than a wrestler. In fact, one of the productions in which he had the most success was DC’s The Peacemaker, created by James Gunn.

And now, the leader of the Cenation has provided quite an exciting update. John Cena has just revealed that he might be a part of some more DC projects whenever offered, especially if they’re by Gunn.

During a recent media interview, John Cena was questioned about the possibility that he might become a part of more DC projects shortly, especially with the ever-expanding lore of the DC Cinematic Universe.

And while answering the question, Cena tried to be as candid as possible. He revealed that he might say yes to any project offered by James Gunn. The reason behind it? Well, it seems like the 6’1″ and 251-pound superstar is intimidated by the filmmaker.

John Cena cannot say no to Gunn

He revealed, “Do you know who James Gunn is? He’s got this look when you make him mad. And it’s actually indescribable, but I don’t want to see it ever again. So I’m just gonna say, No comment.” In the middle of filming ‘Superman Legacy’, the director kicked off his new project at DC with season two of ‘Peacemaker’ alongside John Cena. The filmmaker shared a photograph of the beginning of the filming of season two of ‘Peacemaker.’ It shows fans the reflection of the director himself on the helmet of the Peacemaker, played once again by the incombustible John Cena. He also shared the following message: “Day one, Season 2,” along with the emoji of a merman holding a trident.

The second season of ‘Peacemaker’ is part of the official canon of Gods and Monsters. The first stage of the new cinematic universe was devised by James Gunn himself with Peter Safran. All this after recovering a first season that was directly linked to the previous DCEU. We will see how Gunn explains these incongruities between the two universes. Will there be any references to the kingdom of Atlantis in the new episodes of ‘Peacemaker’? Let’s remember that at the end of the first season of ‘Peacemaker,’ the Peacemaker already crossed paths with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and the rest of the Justice League. Although that’s already part of another universe. Be that as it may, ‘Peacemaker 2′ should premiere during the second half of 2025, with another series, ‘Waller’.
