Goldberg made a return to WWE in 2022 after months of absence. He challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship.

And there is no confirmation yet whether Vince McMahon and WWE will offer him a new contract.

Following his match against Reigns at the Elimination Chamber, the WWE Hall of Famer is now a free agent, as reported. His time in WWE is over as of now as his current WWE deal is up.

Goldberg’s title match against the Tribal Chief in Saudi Arabia might not be a fitting farewell for the WWE Hall of Famer. Though Goldberg showed signs of promise, Reigns got the better of the WWE legend in just six minutes.

Reigns picked up the victory over Goldberg in an impressive manner. He countered Goldberg’s Jackhammer move into the guillotine submission hold.

Even after several efforts, Goldberg failed to escape the hold and ultimately passed out. Thus, the Tribal Chief once again successfully defended the WWE Universal Championship.

Roman Reigns will now defend the WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38.

Is Goldberg willing to re-sign with WWE?

It is up to Vince McMahon and WWE to decide whether they want to offer Goldberg a new contract or not. But as for Goldberg, he may re-sign with WWE if they offer him a contract again. You can always expect the unexpected in WWE.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated in January, Goldberg revealed he would be open for a conversation if WWE intends to work with him again. And this could also be the case following his Elimination Chamber match.

Several fans were not pleased with the manner of Goldberg’s booking in his last match. Almost everyone predicted the result of his match against Reigns. And some fans suggested that WWE should have given a young WWE superstar the spot instead of the WWE legend.

But even at an age of 55 years, he is still going strong inside the squared circle. Also, the fans might want to see him in action at least once more. And with WrestleMania 38 coming up, WWE might also consider offering Goldberg a new contract.
