The creation of the new version of The Elite took a shocking turn when the group took it upon themselves to remove Tony Khan from his duties in All Elite Wrestling. The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry attacked the company’s president in Jacksonville.

Seeing Khan in the ring for a segment is a very unusual thing. But the time it took place got etched in the annals of AEW after he took a vicious beating. So this has led some fans to expect the AEW head honcho to extend this role to the point of facing The Elite in a match as other corporate authorities did in the past. So what are the chances of it happening? And how could it happen? Let’s find out.

During the latest edition of the Busted Open Podcast, the hosts Jonathan and Justin decided to compare the current storylines of the WWE and of All Elite Wrestling. And during this conversation, they came across the discussion of whether Tony Khan could make his in-ring debut. Considering how the Elite has a lot of backstage pull like the NWO, the hosts see a lot of similarity between the two factions. It would be a splendid chance for AEW to capitalize on it by making Khan feud battle the group inside the squared circle. This won’t just be for a PPV like Double or Nothing, but can also benefit as a long-term booking.

The hosts said, “To me, there’s an NWO feel in which the Elite can just continue whether they win or lose on the 26th at Double or Nothing. They can continue to add on to their faction. They can add on to be able to say, we’ve got power. And so now it’s Tony Khan and AEW vs the Elite. I actually believe that they’re going places with this. I think that this works. You can’t drop it though after Double or Nothing. This has to continue. If the Elite have this kind of power, then why stop it? By the time we get to the pay-per-view, this could should continue throughout the year.”

The podcasters further emphasized how this is an opportunity AEW must grab. “You got to continue to take, take it all the way to Wembley, take it across the pond. Disrupt sh*t over there. Like this has got to keep going. If they, if we get to anarchy in the arena and Tony Khan comes back to life and jumps off something, and onto the Elite and, and topples them all. And then team AEWs took over.”

It is not new for bosses to feud with their wrestlers. Vince McMahon emerges as the greatest example of it as he had legendary feuds with Steve Austin, HHH, The Rock, and The Undertaker. However, Tony Khan believes otherwise. In an interview on Cincy 360 with Rick Ucchino and Tony Pike, the AEW President was asked about the possibility of stepping into the AEW ring to have a match and get revenge on the members of The Elite. Khan answered the question by simply saying that only the best fight in AEW, and he is not among them. So it seems like fans won’t be able to see the AEW head honcho face off against the Elite. But can this be a way for them to keep the element of surprise alive? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
