Being a wrestler invites a lot of physical hazards. Sometimes the physical symptoms can appear years after one has left the game. Veteran WWE and ECW star Stevie Richards recently went through a serious health issue, which he himself revealed some time back. While it’s not clear if it’s something because of wrestling effects or not, a new update from the retired star is enough to make his fans relaxed.

Last month, The 51-year-old superstar took to his Instagram handle to reveal his health complication which pushed him to the hospital. The former WWE Hardcore Champion was seen with a walker in the photo.

He wrote back then, ‘The last 4 weeks, especially the last one, have really been something else. We aren’t quite at the finish line yet, but hopefully, the road to recovery starts asap.’

Stevie Richards has some good news for fans

The worried WWE universe finally will be able to breathe as we saw the star in a video, as promised earlier, with an update about his current health status. The video depicts him walking without any support, with his wife cheering around. While the fans were able to pick the hint of his recovering health from the video, a further affirmation from Richards himself only made it firmer and more concrete.

The star noted, ‘These are the first tiny and slow steps without a walker in over 5 weeks.’ Thanking the almighty for making it happen, he went on, ‘It may not seem like much and there may be setbacks, but I’ll take it. At least I have the walk down for the upcoming RoboCop reboot. God is great.’

Richards’ horror neck injury back in 1997

The injury scenario had been quite frequent for the retired star during his WWE run. He injured his neck back in 1997 while being on an ECW run. The injury came as a result of a horror hit by Terry Funk. It had a prolonged negative effect on his health. Richards’ vocal chord has reportedly been damaged badly, and he had to undergo surgery.

Although it’s not clear if the current injury is a prolonged aftereffect of that, some reports suggest that the current health complications are related to his back and spine.
