“Get Your Candy A** Out Of..” – Dwayne Johnson Once Explained How He Came up With The Rock Clock App Idea After Some Unexpected Activities on Social Media

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, famed for his wrestling career, is not just a Hollywood star but also an entrepreneur. He owns a production company called Seven Bucks Production, a tequila brand, and an athletic apparel. He has also shown interest in venturing into energy drinks, and fitness-related content. His other business ventures include endorsements and social media branding.

But one of the interesting ventures he is into is a mobile app. Launched in September 2016, the app is a free-to-use app and is designed to help users achieve their goals. The Rock explained to Graham Norton how he came up with the idea for the app.

The Rock reveals the source of the idea behind The Rock Clock App

The Rock was invited to the Graham Norton Show along with Australian Actor Liam Hemsworth and American Actor Jeff Goldblum on an episode aired last year. While discussing his journey from the ring of pro wrestling to an actor and an entrepreneur, he also revealed how he came up with the idea for The Rock Clock App.

The Rock said, “There’s a lot of fans who found a lot of inspiration out of that. Oh great! I don’t want to wake up when you wake up, but I do want to wake up early.” To this Norton quipped, “But people can wake up with you.”

Then The Rock came up with, “I was just going to say and then that morphed into an idea that we had. Um, and we created an app and the app is called The Rock Clock.”

During a brief moment in the show, Norton introduced the audience to The Rock Clock App (available on the Apple store and Google Play Store). The app is inspired by The Rock’s daily life routine and is closely mentored by him. As per Johnson’s admission, he has designed it to motivate his fans to be like him.

The Rock Clock is not merely a clock

He also explained how the clock is more than just an alarm. He said, “Yeah so, basically we created this app. It’s called The Rock Clock and you can put in your goals and it will help you achieve your goals. You can put in the time you wake up and then it has a little special feature that allows you to wake up with me.”

The People’s Champion has his own unique ways to execute successful businesses, as displayed in the case of his Tequila Brand. He has also tried to give a personal touch to his app as well. The Rock Clock is built to aid users in achieving their goals by keeping them punctual and thus achieving their goals. It does not have a snooze button and the alarm sounds are inspired by The Rock’s chants/catchphrases recorded in his voice.

Users can also receive personalized video-recorded messages from Johnson through the app. It also has a song called The Sunshine (sung by Rock) that has Rock’s iconic Candy A** catchphrase. The lyrics of the song go, “Good morning sunshine Yeah, that’s what the rock just said, Open your eyes up, Get your candy a** out of the bed.”
