WWE Draft Night 2’s final round, i.e., the 6th round was an absolute shocker. The names for that round were Carmella, Rudge Holland, Sami Zayn, and Gable Steveson.

As of WWE Draft 2021 Night 2, the company has signed Gable Steveson, the Olympic Gold Medalist from 2020 Tokyo Olympics, to Monday Night Raw. He did not have to go through NXT like most new pro-wrestlers have to, and is now working with one of the flagship brands of the company.

When Adam Pearce announced it, the crowd did not expect it. Therefore, it took the WWE Universe a second to react, but when they did, there was a huge pop.

Steveson reacted to the news on social media, clearly showing his excitement about the news.

Gable Steveson always wanted to join WWE

After winning the NCAA Division I Title, Steveson revealed he wanted to be a part of WWE. But, after winning the Olympic medal. In fact, he revealed he wanted to be the best WWE Superstar to have ever walked the ring.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Steveson secured the Gold in Freestyle Wrestling. Following that, he reached out to Vince McMahon on social media, but The Big Man did not respond to that.

However, Steveson made a brief appearance on WrestleMania 37, and this was the event where the fans returned for the first time in a year before officially returning for live shows.

After this brief appearance, it was a matter of time before WWE actually signed him.

Some time ago, Steveson teased that the negotiations were done, the contract was drafted, and it was just a matter of signing the document. However, at that point, he did not reveal if he was joining WWE or another wrestling promotion.

This helped in adding an extended hype to his story. A certain section of wrestling fans were expecting Steveson to sign up with AEW since All Elite Wrestling was on a spree of signing pro-wrestlers at that point.

Now, it’s clear that Steveson joined the company he always wanted to join! Only time will tell how he performs as a part of the biggest company in sports entertainment.
