WWE officially signed Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson to an intriguing contract this Thursday. The contract was WWE’s first name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal, which means WWE will permit Steveson to defend his 2020-21 NCAA national championship at 285 pounds in freestyle wrestling at the University of Minnesota during the 2021-22 campaign.

Gable Steveson claims he is not another Kurt Angle

The 21-year-old wrestler took to Twitter after his signing and boldly makes the claim that he is not another Kurt Angle. The fans compared the Gold medalist to the former WWE Champion.

“I’m not the next Kurt Angle.. I’m Gable Steveson.. Now, Please Enjoy The Show.. Thank you!” Gable wrote.

After all the speculations, Steveson finally made his way into the WWE. However, a much more arduous task is in his hand, being script-ready on a weekly basis will surely be a challenge for the young wrestler.

The WWE Universe is in for a treat, seeing a talented young athlete with such accolades. Steveson has often admitted that Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and Roman Reigns are his favorite wrestlers.
