Fans are collectively praying and wishing a speedy recovery to WWE legend Barry Windham, who is battling for his life in the ICU after suffering a massive heart attack on Friday. Windham was traveling through the Atlanta airport at the time of the incident.

According to the GoFundMe page set up by his nice Mika Rotunda, the Hall of Famer’s “future is uncertain”.

Asking fans for help, Windham’s niece-in-law and former WWE ring announcer, Joseann Alexie Offerman, tweeted the fundraiser page. “It would mean the world if you could please help in any way that you can. Thank you WWE Hall of Famer, Barry Windham in ICU,” her tweet read.

Fans were quick to acknowledge and react.

Keeping Barry in thoughts and prayers

Commenting beneath the tweet, a Twitter user empathised with Windham’s condition and shared her own experience.

“As a daughter of two parents who struggled with and struggles with CHF congestive heart failure I send my love and a prayer for a speedy recovery to your uncle in law,” the user said

Another user informed that all income from super chats that she’ll receive from her show would go to Windham’s cause.

Several others kept him in their thoughts and prayers.

One fan described the Hall of Famer, who is also present superstar Bray Wyatt’s uncle, as her “first wrestling crushes in the 80’s.”

Suffering a heart attack was Barry Windham’s darkest fear

Mika Rotunda said that the decorated wrestler suffered from health complications arising from multiple injuries which the latter had suffered throughout his career.

Sister to wrestlers Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, Mika, who is a realtor in Tampa Bay, Florida, said her uncle’s dark fear was realized when he suffered the cardiac arrest.

Even though he has undergone a lifesaving procedure, his condition remains critical.

“As a family, we are impatiently waiting to hear that he will be okay. But as of now, the future is uncertain,” part of the GoFundMe plea read.

Meanwhile, Mika has thanked the fans and called them a “gift from God” for their support.

“After all these years around the wrestling world, one thing stands for certain. And that is — that wrestling fans, are the absolute best in the world. And the group of people that wrestle as professionals, that we call extended family, are a gift from God,” she wrote on Instagram.

Windham is unlikely to return to the ring as a wrestler, as he hung up his boots a long time ago. However, fans would surely love to see this legend pin death, like he had many of his opponents in his prime.
