Vince McMahon’s retirement from WWE shook things up big time in the promotion. The new regime comprising his daughter Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, and Triple H has begun to implement their ideas on the product. One change noticeable is the return of many wrestlers that were let go by WWE previously. A former WWE Champion recently spoke about whether he would consider going back to WWE.

Names like Braun Strowman, Johnny Gargano, and Dakota Kai have made their returns to WWE after being released. Former ECW legend Rob Van Dam shared his thoughts on McMahon’s retirement and what it means to him.

RVD isn’t sure of a WWE return

Vince McMahon’s sudden retirement due to allegations of hush money led to a major revamp of the WWE. Stephanie McMahon is the new Co-CEO along with Nick Khan and Triple is the Head of Creative.

Rob Van Dam, who had a glittering career with WWE, winning the WWE Championship and other accolades, talked about how he is not sure about a return to the promotion under the new setup.

While on the Cafe De Rene podcast, RVD said, “Do I like that Vince is no longer with WWE? No. I personally don’t think there’s anything in it for me because Vince was a friend and there’s no reason for me to believe at this point that the current guy that’s running things has any more interest in me than Vince did.”

He added that for his own good; it was better when McMahon was in charge. The former Intercontinental Champion said, “For those reasons, just from my selfish perspective, I think [it was] better for me when Vince was there.”

It seems right now Triple H is focusing on moving forward with the talent already at his disposal. But pro wrestling’s oldest adage goes ‘never say never’. Rob Van Dam remains a popular figure among fans who excited the masses with his impressive move set.
