WWE does not call its contracted talent ‘wrestlers’ – they call them Superstars, and rightly so. WWE Superstars are larger-than-life athletes and many have transcended to the bright lights of Hollywood. Today, we check out the top five movies WWE Superstars have starred in.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – Jumanji: The Next Level

Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson is a megastar in Hollywood today. The ‘People’s Champ’ has acted in several movies, but his latest release, Jumanji: The Next Level, is one of his biggest box-office hits of all time.

Alongside the box-office success, the movie is really gripping, and Johnson has done justice to the Dr. Xander Bravestone character. The Rock pulled off the character even better than he did in the first part of the film. Apart from Jumanji, Johnson’s successful ventures include Baywatch, Faster, and the Fast and Furious Series.

John Cena – Bumblebee

The 16-time World Champion is widely recognized as the Face of WWE, but that narrative has changed over the past few years. John Cena has slowly transitioned into Hollywood with films and television. Cena has done some really good films such as The Trainwreck, The Marine, 12 Rounds, etc., but none have been better than Bumblebee.

Cena stepped foot in the Transformers Universe with Bumblebee, and the rest is history. It got tremendous success at the box-office and also brought Cena on the roadmap to Hollywood glory. His upcoming projects include Suicide Squad 2 and Fast and Furious 9 (F9).

Batista – Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy

We all know Batista as ‘The Animal’ from WWE, but this ‘Animal’ has really grabbed eyeballs in Hollywood. It’s no secret Batista plays the character of Drax in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers franchise. Those were huge box office hits, but it had a huge starcast.

One of Batista’s best films, in terms of box office success and otherwise, is Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy. Batista completely submerges himself in the role and plays an almost picture-perfect bad guy. If you haven’t watched it yet, then please do!

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan in Rocky III

Hulk Hogan was the first megastar of professional wrestling. There have been many greats in pro wrestling, but Hulk Hogan sits at the very top. There is absolutely nobody who doesn’t know Hulk Hogan, and that includes the younger fans.

Hogan rose to superstardom after he starred in Rocky III opposite Sylvester Stallone. He played the role of Thunderlips in the film, leading to one of the biggest crossovers of all time. Hogan became a household name after it, and we all know how his popularity helped take the pro wrestling business to greater heights.

WWE Hall of Famer Andre The Giant in The Princess Bride

The ‘Eight Wonder of the World’ Andre The Giant is another name that was immensely popular in the pro wrestling world in the 70s and 80s. Often regarded as ‘The Immovable Object,’ Andre captivated fans with his size, but he was a gentle giant at heart.
