One of the marquee attractions of any WWE PLE is the much-awaited return of a bunch of sidelined superstars. The entire WWE Universe waits with bated breath for seeing their treasured superstar back in action in front of a psyched-up crowd. SummerSlam 2023 is in the offing. Like every other year, a handful of potential returning superstars are lined up on the card. The latest addition might be former WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Speculations have been swirling for a while about The Viper’s return to the mix. The 14-Time WWE World Champion is finally in SummerSlam town. Now the million-dollar question pops in: Is Randy Orton genuinely eying a return? 

Is Randy Orton up for a SummerSlam return?

It’s been more than a year since The Apex Predator last laced up his boots. After being sidelined due to a brutal beat down at the hands of The Bloodline in May last year, the 43-year-old teased a reemergence inside the squared circle a couple of times so far. He was expected to come out of hiatus back in April at WrestleMania 39. But it didn’t prove to be the case.

A recent report suggested Orton started lifting weights, disobeying doctor’s advice, to be worthy of a speedy comeback. On top of it, the imposing superstar of the promotion recently appeared in the city of Detroit, days ahead of SummerSlam, which takes place in the same area.

While it apparently doubled the buzz of his return, fans are not likely to hear his theme song at the SummerSlam arena this weekend.

A recent follow-up report confirmed that Orton is still medically not cleared to wrestle. To mellow down the feeling of heartbreak, you can look to other expected SummerSlam returnees, nevertheless.

A handful of superstars might make a spectacular return at SummerSlam

SummerSlam has set a landmark standard for dishing out surprises. Over the years, it continued to be the ideal place for a blockbuster return of many standout stars in the past. Last year we saw Bayley

This year, too, some popular franchise figures can realistically return to the business to grace the August extravaganza. The names included Robert Roode, Carlito, Bray Wyatt, and last but not least, The Rock.

Fans have been yearning for a Rock return for a while. SummerSlam season made it more intense, especially after Grayson Waller called him out for weeks now. Also, the recent deadlock in Hollywood can be a favorable condition for him to consider a WWE reappearance.

Hours are left before all the long-minted speculations either fade out or come true.
