Dwayne Johnson is known for his captivating performances in the ring. The star has always been an expert in keeping the audience engaged. Most of the time, this includes him teaching a lesson to younger stars. One such incident happened back in 2019. When the clip was shared as a throwback piece by WWE, the star who suffered the pain of The Rock’s jabs told how he feels about it.
Dwayne Johnson’s ‘uncool’ behavior
A clip was shared by the official Instagram account of WWE. In this we can see The Rock, teaming up with Becky Lynch to go against NXT star Baron Corbin aka King Corbin. Here we can see Corbin getting beaten up by both of them. It started off with just a couple of punches which was followed by a leg drop by The Man herself. As Corbin was trying to recover from this, Johnson delivered his signature move, The People’s Elbow which was immediately followed by The Rock Bottom.

In the clip, it can be seen that Corbin had suffered a lot. After seeing this clip resurface, he commented just one word, “Uncool”. The intention behind this could be nothing but sarcasm. This event unfolded on the 20th Anniversary episode of SmackDown. But as the then 35-year-old star thought he would be able to settle his old score with Becky Lynch, The Rock interrupted and the rest is history.
Corbin and Lynch’s rivalry stems from the mixed tag team match at WWE Extreme Rules back in 2019. However, one controversial moment from this match which led to Corbin receiving death threats.
Extreme Rules went out of hand
Back in 2019, WWE Extreme Rules had a mixed tag team match. In this, a tag team of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch went off against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. During the match, Corbin delivered his finishing move “The End of Days” to Becky Lynch. This led to a massive uproar from the wrestling fandom. Recently in an interview, the 39-year-old star revealed that the sequence was not scripted and Becky Lynch was ready to take the finishing move.

Even though Lynch was okay with it, the audience felt like their beloved star was ambushed by a man with a finishing move. On many occasions, Corbin revealed that it would be one of the most memorable moments of his career. He had said that after he delivered the move, the audience in the stadium started booing him. Later on, he said that he started receiving death threats online.

It could be said that The Rock and Becky Lynch giving him a beating might be WWE’s way of showing fans that the star should be punished for what he did.
