When Seth Rollins won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions in May 2023, no one thought he would become the hardest-working champion. Defending his title on every PLE since and even on a few RAW episodes, Rollins has brought back glory to the prestigious World Heavyweight Championship title. However, after a reign of over 140 days, is it time for him to relinquish the title?

While losing it emerges as a dreadful prospect, Rollins may not wrestle anytime soon. He suffered a knee injury during his match on the last episode of RAW. Here are four reasons why he should relinquish the title.

As mentioned above, Rollins has been the hardest-working champion in recent times. He has defended the title not only on PLEs but also on television as well. This has taken a toll on his body due to wear and tear. While he has had his fair share of issues with his back, his last match on RAW showed that his knees are next. Relinquishing the title will give him a chance to step back and heal.

While fans are excited about the showdown between CM Punk and Rollins at WrestleMania, Rollins is clearly not at 100%. If Rollins vacates the title spot and goes on hiatus for a few months, Punk can seize the title.

This could set up The Visionary receiving his title shot for a title he never lost once he returns. This return feud could give birth to a Punk-Rollins encounter at 100%, resulting in an epic feud.

If Rollins relinquishes the title, his foes, like Drew McIntyre, Punk, and Damian Priest can get a chance to win it. Even babyfaces like Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso can compete for the title. There could be a tournament where the wolf amongst the pack could receive a title shot. This exact idea played out recently with Logan Paul as a new #1 contender for his United States title emerged on SmackDown this month.

The reason why we mentioned that Rollins has defended his title on almost every PLE and some episodes of RAW is because it has become predictable. While the matches are great, the outcome has gotten boring for fans. The last win against Jinder Mahal proved it, as fans were outraged.
