For over 1000 days Roman Reigns has been the top draw in the WWE. His run as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has been historic and peerless. No pro wrestler in the new millennium has had a longer title run than The Tribal Chief. But like most things, while there are perks, problems also accompany it.

One of the biggest problems for Reigns is the target on his back. As the champion, he attracts challenges from others vying for the belts. And while the leader of The Bloodline has been able to defeat all his challengers so far, he has a new one on the horizon. A WWE sensation has sounded the warning bells for The Big Dog.

Since his debut in 2021, popular musician Bad Bunny has taken the WWE Universe by storm. While his initial outing received a lukewarm response from fans, the Puerto Rican native stepped on the gas, enthralling fans with high-flying moves.

Bunny, who was last seen in WWE at Backlash on May 6, fought in a San Juan Street Fight bout against compatriot Damian Priest. After jostling for a little over 25 minutes, the ‘Chambea’ artist emerged victorious against The Judgment Day member.

Now, he has his sights set on Reigns. In an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair for their upcoming October edition, Bunny said, “My plan is to take the title from Roman Reigns.” The $40 million rich reggaeton artist also admitted that his Backlash match was ‘just too painful’. This isn’t surprising if you take into account the highly physical bout between Bunny and the current Mr. Money In The Bank.

But how practical is Bunny’s threat to Reigns and what could be the possible consequences? Let’s find out.

Here’s why Bad Bunny’s aspiration could restart a feud in WWE

At the moment, Roman Reigns is on a brief hiatus from pro wrestling. He, however, still holds the belt and according to beliefs, Reigns will carry it till WrestleMania 40.

But once he’s back, he will have to potentially sort out differences with dissenting cousin Jey Uso, whose super kick and spear put him on the mat on the August 18 episode of SmackDown- the day Jey Uso also quit the blue brand.

Then there’s Damian Priest waiting to cash in his briefcase. While he could go for any title, Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship and Reigns dual belts are the likely contenders. If Priest decides to go against Reigns, it also creates a potential clash between Bunny and him.

This is likely to reignite the rivalry that gifted the WWE Universe with the best matches of 2023. But whether this happens or not, can only be confirmed by father time. Till then, fans will have to wait.
