44-Year-Old Star Digs Out Her Nauseous Forgotten Memories During Vince McMahon’s Popular Storyline

WWE programming has gone through a notable transformation in the last 15 years or so. While it’s more suited for younger audiences now, there was a time when the promotion wasn’t afraid of airing content that was not fit for minors. It also had the WWE focusing more on the backstage segments, many of which involved Vince McMahon. The 77-year-old would play his gimmick to the T, getting cozy with many female superstars of that era. One such superstar recently reacted to a segment that took place 16 years ago.

The said segment took place on Saturday Night’s Main Event on August 18, 2007. It involved Vince McMahon, former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman and former diva Melina.

When Melina threatened to sue Vince McMahon inside the ring

Among the many stories that were run by the WWE in the 2000s, was one that dealt with a paternity issue featuring McMahon. Popularly known as the illegitimate child storyline, this was first introduced in an episode of RAW. Coachman informed McMahan that he had an illegitimate child on the roster and a paternity suit related to that.

This led McMahon to grow suspicious of everyone. During the August 18 episode, Melina came out to the ring, joining McMahon and Coachman. The pro wrestling impresario had an awkward look on his face as he kept on telling The Coach that Melina could not be his daughter.

Confused, Coachman asked why, and McMahon whispered something in his years, as the latter’s face conveyed disgust. While we did not hear the content of their conversation, McMahon likely told him about his cozy meetings with Melina. The disgust was also visible on Melina’s face, who said that if she was the illegitimate child, she was going to take him “for every cent” that he had. As Melina stormed off the ring, McMahon’s shouted, “Ungrateful b**ch”.

Recently, a profile on X, formerly Twitter, tweeted the video and wrote: “Such a weird storyline I’m surprise nobody ever ask Melina about this story if she remembers it.”

Replying to the tweet, the three-time WWE Women’s Champion said, “I totally forgot about that!” Part of her tweet also said, “That was buried in the deep dark recesses of my forgotten memories. Awkward & Weird but Funny now that I look back on it.”

While Melina exited the WWE in 2011, she made sporadic appearances after that. But after one of her appearances, fans had a major complaint about the WWE.

The WWE Universe called out the promotion for disrespecting Melina

The former WWE Divas Champion enjoyed quite the fame during her time in the WWE. And while she left 11 years ago, her support hadn’t died even in 2022, as evidenced by this incident.

Melina was a surprise entrant at the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, entering at number two, following Sasha Banks. But the former Raw Women’s Champion eliminated her in less than one minute, even before the third entrant had entered the ring.

This led to many fans showing their anger online. They called out the promotion for disrespecting the 44-year-old star. That remains Melina’s last WWE appearance to date.

Many in the WWE Universe would surely love to see her return and joined some of the older superstars, like Lita and Trish Stratus, who have had a new lease in the company in recent years.
