Fans of pro wrestling are aware of the hectic and rigid work life the stars have. Oftentimes they are on the road, which makes them miss occasions such as anniversaries or birthdays of their special ones. But 14-time world champion Randy Orton thinks that the norms have changed now. Speaking with Logan Paul, Orton discussed the efforts Triple H has put into making the work-life balance of WWE stars better.

Randy Orton credits Triple H for ushering in transformative change

Speaking with Logan Paul on his podcast, IMPAULSIVE, The Viper discussed how much the work culture has changed in recent times. He said that things have changed a lot as Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque will make sure that the talents working with the promotion can take time off for special occasions. The former world champion also stated that this leniency was not present a few years ago. Orton believes that it has something to do with Triple H and the near heart failure he suffered back in 2021. Back in 2021, there were reports that Levesque got into a ‘near-fatal’ cardiac accident.

In an interview with Forbes, Triple H stated how difficult it was for him during that period. The creative head of WWE had contracted pneumonia, which eventually affected his cardiovascular system. By the time he was taken to the emergency room, his heart was pumping almost 22% of blood in the body. In the next two to three days, it dropped to 12%.

Fortunately for him, he was able to recover from this and now is healthy. Orton believes that this incident has pushed him to understand how important it is to spend time with family and prompted him to make changes in the company.

Levesque formerly known as Triple H took over as the Chief Content Officer during a time when Vince McMahon had to step down. While he had some big shoes to fill in, there have been reports that he has made a lot of changes.

What other things Triple H changed about WWE

Since he stepped in, fans have noticed a drastic change in the quality of content being put up by WWE. For instance, a holistic approach was being incorporated into the company. Secondary titles such as the Heavyweight Championship title, Intercontinental Champion, and other titles were given equal importance as primary titles. For that, the way stories were told was also changed. Fans noticed that storylines are now focusing on the long-term aspect and are not something that lasts from one event to another.

Apart from that, another change that was noticed was the freedom commentators are now given. There was a time when mentioning names of other wrestling promotions was considered taboo. However, under Levesque’s leadership, commentators such as Michael Cole are now given much more freedom and are allowed to drop names of other promotions. This helped in adding to the pro wrestling lore, which happens to be quite vast. Apart from that, they are allowed to give their insights and opinions and be themselves to add more authenticity to their commentary. Apart from that, recently stars have also been allowed to sit at the table with other commentators and give their insights on the match.
