Former WWE Women’s Champion Paige worked extremely hard to reach the top of the roster. Unfortunately, she suffered a neck injury back in late 2017 which cut her career short.
She announced her in-ring retirement following WrestleMania 34. However, she did remain a part of WWE for several years afterwards when she was appearing in WWE Backstage episodes.
Just when the WWE Universe thought she wasn’t coming back, she sent out a tweet confirming that she’s returning in January. There’s only one question – is it WWE or AEW?

The way pro-wrestlers are signing up with AEW, it seems entirely possible that Paige signs up with AEW. Where do you think she’s headed?
To be honest, Paige will be a huge addition to the AEW Women’s roster.

Prior to this tweet, she revealed that she’s ready to come back. However, during this revelation, she specifically mentions WWE. This could mean that the company and she has already spoken about her potential return to the ring.

“I’m not done yet. This is going to be my comeback story. I’m inspired. I’m so inspired by the people coming back to wrestling and the more I think about it, I’m like, ‘Okay, mentally, I’m ready to go.’ I’m going to start working around, getting in the ring a little bit. Maybe. We’ll see. This is not saying I’m making a comeback tomorrow. It’s a long f—ing road. I still have to get cleared by doctors, I have to get cleared by WWE. It’s such a big process, but emotionally, I’m ready.” H/t Fightful
Additionally, Paige has revealed that her contract with WWE is apparently ending in June 2022. Therefore, if she is indicating January as her comeback to the ring, it could be with WWE in January 2022.
