Lana improved a lot over the past year. The Ravishing Russian trained hard and quick along with the rest of the women’s division, so she could transition to a complete pro wrestler. Unfortunately, Vince McMahon and WWE cut her dreams short by releasing her.

WWE cleaned house on their roster by eliminating a ton of superstars. From former World Champions like Braun Strowman to former NXT superstars like Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy, several top talents found themselves unemployed.
Lana wasn’t WWE’s most important talent, but she wasn’t disposable either. Few worked harder than her to make it to this level, and all the Samoan Drops through the announcer’s table from Nia Jax went to waste. However, Lana reconfirmed her’s and her fans’ faith in wrestling and even sent a message to Vince McMahon on Instagram.
“I have a lot of unsettled business, I don’t want to give up what I love so much.” She continued, “I love wrestling, I really love wrestling. I cried a lot about it because I don’t want any person to determine my destiny. Not a billionaire, not a Vince McMahon, not anyone. I’m very thankful for the opportunities I was given by Vince McMahon but no one’s going to determine my destiny.”
If AEW or IMPACT attract Lana to their company, they could benefit from having someone with enough mainstream fame to draw eyes to their product. However, a reunion with Miro in Jacksonville could the wholesome moment she deserved.
A bright WWE career
Despite the critics and the unnecessary hate, Lana thrived in WWE. She wrestled little at the start of her career, but she blossomed and became an integral cog in the women’s tag team division. From tag teams with Natalya and Naomi, to singles feuds with Nia Jax and Asuka forced the WWE Universe to take Lana seriously.
She walked into the company as the evil Russian valet to the anti-American United States Champion Rusev. After that relationship turned into an actual marriage, they began splitting on-screen. Rusev/Miro became a global icon with the ‘Rusev Day’ chants breaking the sound barriers at arenas in 2018.

As for Lana, she only worked harder day after day to get to this position. While WWE may not view her as important anymore, she could be a huge gain for any company in need for some mainstream success.
