Bobby Lashley finally got to challenge Big E for the WWE Championship as Raw kicked off. Previously, Big E had accepted Lashley’s challenge at the Extreme Rules PPV, which led to this match on Raw.
The match was proving to be an exciting one until a huge surprise came in. Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander appeared from out of nowhere during the match, solidifying a reunion of The Hurt Business.
Benjamin and Alexander distracted Big E, which led to Lashley taking advantage with a vicious spear. But he could not win the match as ‘The New Day’ came out to Big E’s rescue. The match ended as a Disqualification because of the complete chaos that broke between the two top factions of WWE.

Just as WWE Officials got some control of the brawl, Adam Pearce announced the main event for Raw- Big E vs Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship in a steel cage match.

Big E retains the WWE Championship inside the Steel Cage
Bobby Lashley looked frustrated as he came out for the main event. Lashley then took out all his frustrations on Big E by attacking him as he was about to enter the cage.
Lashley sent him flying over the barricade. He then got him back at ringside and followed it up by sending him into the unforgiving steel steps.
However, the two superstars finally got in the ring to start the main event. As soon as the bell rang, Lashley charged at Big E, but the WWE Champion took control with an Uranage. E then looked to be in control till Lashley made a comeback with a massive clothesline.
All in all, Big E and Bobby Lashley took each other to the limit with their epic battle inside the steel cage. For a moment, everyone thought the ‘All-Mighty’ would win his second WWE Championship when he got Big E into the dragon sleeper.
However, the WWE Champion channeled the power of positivity to make a miraculous comeback. Both men traded finishers, but it wasn’t enough to keep each other down.
The Hurt Business came out to make sure Big E didn’t escape the cage, but the New Day evened the numbers.
It was a hard-fought match between the two. But in the end, it was Big E who got the better of Lashley.
What next for Big E?
Big E defended his title on Raw after a tough challenge from Lashley, but it was not over for him yet. There seems to be a new challenger in town- Drew McIntyre.

The former WWE Champion came out after the main event match and pointed his sword towards Big E. Hence, McIntyre, who made his intentions clear, looks ready to challenge Big E for the title.

However, for Lashley, it looks like he will be out of the title picture for now, as he might have to battle the WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.
