Former Wrestling Manager Believes Billy Graham Unintentionally Did Hulk Hogan a World of Good in His Quest of Becoming a Wrestling Legend: “Vince Wouldn’t Have Needed..”

Hulk Hogan, is often part of discussions among wrestling fans. He served the professional wrestling industry and entertained the fans for more than three decades. And during the 80s, he was undoubtedly the face of WWE. However, according to former wrestling manager Jim Cornette, this wouldn’t have been possible if the late pro-wrestling legend Billy Graham hadn’t left WWE at that time. According to Cornette, Graham would have easily surpassed Hogan as he was way ahead of his time.

Jim Cornette believes that Billy Graham would have been the face of WWE 

In the 483rd episode of his podcast ‘Jim Cornette Experiences’, the former professional wrestling manager Jim Cornette revealed that the late wrestling legend Billy Graham could have been the face of WWE in the 80s instead of Hulk Hogan had he stayed.

He even mentioned that Graham was six years ahead of his time and that if he was in the WWE during the 80s

Vince McMahon would have never needed Hulk Hogan.

Expressing his views, Jim Cornette said,

“He actually was only six years ahead of his time because if…..if he had been the Superstar Billy Graham of 1978 and 1984, Vince wouldn’t have needed Hulk Hogan because he would have already had Superstar Graham.“

It seems like Cornette’s claims are not vague as he is not the only one who has talked about it.

Recently, an American author and a friend of Vince McMahon has also revealed that McMahon wanted Billy Graham could’ve been his Hulk Hogan.

Lately, the American author Keith Elliott Greenberg talked about the time when WWE asked Graham to drop the WWE world championship in the late 70s. He revealed that Billy Graham asked Vince McMahon Sr. to turn him into a ‘babyface’ so that he could keep the title as he was over with the fans but McMahon refused.

Decades after this incident, Vince McMahon told Greenberg that if he was the in charge at that time, he would have accepted Graham’s offer and made him his Hulk Hogan.

Greenberg’s words clearly state that McMahon himself wanted to make Billy Graham the face of WWE back then. However, Graham left and Hogan entered the WWE and became the face.

Last week,

the professional wrestling world lost the legend, Billy Graham. He left the world at the age of 79. Even though he is not among us, the wrestling industry and fans will never forget his contribution to the business
