New Year’s Day was a good occasion to be a Dwayne Johnson and WWE fan. All the viewers watching Monday Night Raw witnessed the return of “The Rock” months after his appearance on Friday Night SmackDown. Unlike SmackDown, this time things picked up momentum by the end of his promo. However, he made more than one enemy during his appearance on Raw.

Johnson’s promo opened as he interrupted Jinder Mahal‘s limelight. The latter didn’t take this invasion kindly and the two former WWE Champions went on to wrestle each other briefly before Mahal was put to the ground. Now, he has a challenge for “The People’s Champion”.

Even though the audience did not value “The Modern Day Maharaja” inside the ring enough, the wrestler liked the limelight. However, his time was cut short when the WWE legend arrived on the scene. Almost a week after the incident, Mahal has something to say to Johnson.

Recently, Mahal appeared in an interview with Sony Sports Network. In a clip posted on the Sports Network’s official Twitter account, the host asks Mahal about his experience while working inside the ring with “The Rock”. The Indian-origin wrestler was utterly confident in his performance.

“It was great. I actually feel like I came out on top. You know, I had many good points before The Rock even came out. I was feeling confident until I was on the receiving end, you know, The Rock gave me the Spinebuster,” replied Jinder Mahal. The wrestler also went on to challenge Dwayne Johnson by the end of the clip, saying, “I want to issue a challenge to The Rock: any time in India, you can step into the ring with Modern Day Maharaja.”

For now, DJ seems to be occupied with his developing feud with The Bloodline, which has a chance of reaching the squared circle at Elimination Chamber ’24. But in the future, there could be a possibility that we may see Johnson and Mahal working together in the ring again.

Dwayne Johnson hasn’t forgotten about the moment either. However, unlike Mahal, for Johnson, the moment was more about how the limelight made him feel.

It was the perfect New Year’s Day surprise for the fans present at the stadium. Not only was Johnson’s present exciting for us, his being in the arena was a special moment that he remembered after wrapping up as well.

“The Brahma Bull” took to Twitter days after the appearance and confessed how it made him feel.

Although he didn’t mention anything about Mahal, it’s probably because he sees him as a competition that may require his attention in the future.
