All that define the entertainment sport. There are many iconic storylines and moments that exist in the company’s history which fans vividly remember even after many years.
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry spent more than two decades wrestling for Vince McMahon’s company. He officially signed off from pro wrestling back in 2018. During his long career, Henry had a lot of moments which included him winning the World Heavyweight Championship but one particular moment stands out from the rest.

Back in 2013, in a most surprising turn of events, Mark Henry faked his retirement during the June 17th, 2013 episode of RAW. Though Henry lost the eventual WWE title match, this moment has been considered one of the iconic moments in WWE’s history because of its flawless execution, which pushed everyone to think the retirement was true.
The retired star recently looked back on one of the most memorable moments of his decorative career during his interview with the Attitude Era podcast. Henry noted, Vince McMahon was the man who made it possible for him. Detailing how the idea came out, he continued, “You know what man, during that time I was actually — my contract was expiring, and I was thinking about taking a break.’
‘And so I went probably about six, eight months basically really preparing myself for retirement. So it was like 50-50 [whether he’d retire or not]. And then Vince talked to me and said, ‘You know what? I think this would be a really good time to really pull the wool over people. Everybody thinks you’re going to retire. You won’t re-sign, like what’s the deal? Is it more money, this or that?’ I said, ‘No.’ It’s like, ‘It’s not the money, I just want to go home.’ He added.

The veteran star later noted that his intention behind retirement was never money. He wanted to be true to his fatherhood, spending more time with his kids at home. Picking the emotion, McMahon placed it in the right place to make a brilliant promo.
Mark Henry’s decorative WWE career
Mark Henry had not only a lengthy career in the pro wrestling arena but also he had achieved numerous accolades, including two World Heavyweight Championships, ECW Championship, and a few titles more during his active in-ring days. He had wrestled in different eras after debuting in 1996.
Following a legendary career, the 52-year-old was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2018. He also won the prestigious Slammy awards three times in his career.

Before stepping into the wrestling world in 1996, Henry was already tremendously successful as a super-accomplished pro lifter who appeared in the Olympics twice.
