WWE SmackDown: December 3rd, 2021, featured a match between Sasha Banks and Shayna Baszler. While the match was entertaining, the commentary from Pat McAfee was controversial.

Pat McAfee passed a comment about Nia Jax and Eva, referring to WWE recently releasing the pro-wrestlers from their contract. It was insensitive of him to pass a comment about this considering how poorly the release impacted the talents.

Unfortunately, McAfee didn’t seem to consider any of the consequences before making a comment during the live show. Even though WWE cut it out in the recap videos, the audience still heard what he said, and reacted.

No one is impressed with the former NFL Punter for passing those comments. In fact, he immediately received backlash for what he said on live TV.

The Rock will not be happy

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has always put family first. Therefore, he won’t be happy that McAfee passed a comment about his cousin on live television.

Nia Jax responded to the comment made by Pat McAfee

Former Superstar Nia Jax refused to acknowledge her in-ring WWE character.

Therefore, she responded by asking who Nia Jax was. It’s funny how a pro-wrestler moved on from WWE upon her release, and did not wait around for anything from the company!

However, it still wasn’t okay for Pat McAfee to make the comment.

WWE released a bizarre number of Superstars in 2021

The company began releasing talent in February 2021, and did not stop.

There was at least one release or more every month, and the WWE Universe wasn’t even shocked by the time November 2021 arrived.

While many released Superstars have completed their non-compete clause, moved on from WWE, and have found solace in other promotions, especially AEW.
