WWE Backstage is back on FOX, and fans were hyped to see Renee Young return to WWE television once again. Along with her, Booker T and Paige also returned to the show, which is mostly unscripted.

On the show, Young asked Paige what she thought about Goldberg returning to face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. Paige gave a very honest response.

“Honestly, like I’m a fan of Goldberg, whatever right, but I just don’t feel like he should be in this kind of thing. I think Drew has been having this massive build up this past year, completely carrying as the babyface of the company. I think he’s been doing so freaking well.”

Since winning the title at WrestleMania, Drew McIntyre has been the best thing about WWE. Roman Reigns might’ve stolen that title from him, but McIntyre has been Monday Night Raw’s MVP in 2020.

His title defences against the likes of Dolph Ziggler, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton and AJ Styles have been nothing short of superb.

“And you have people that’s, you know, that’s been there a long time that want to have that opportunity and unfortunately they’re not getting it. I just don’t think it’s needed and I feel like he should be the one to at least win.”

Paige joins the rest of the WWE Universe in picking Drew McIntyre to keep the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, the WWE might have a very nasty surprise planned that might ruin WrestleMania season for a lot of fans.

WWE have not hesitated in putting the belt on Goldberg just before Mania and could very well follow suit in 2021.

Goldberg winning the WWE Championship would be a terrible booking decision. Unfortunately, this does not lie in the hands of those who do not want to see the 54-year-old legend at WrestleMania, but those who think Goldberg is still a box-office draw.

If Goldberg wins the WWE Title, we expect Drew McIntyre to enter the Royal Rumble and win it. If WWE go the wrong way this weekend, they will have the chance to make things right at WrestleMania.
