Former WWE NXT Superstar Velveteen Dream was released in 2020. However, Dream’s release wasn’t because the company had run out of creative storylines for him or injuries or budgetary reasons.
There were certain accusations made against him which led to the company terminating his contract. During his conversation with Dishing Drama with Dana Wilkey, Patrick Clark Jr. aka Velveteen Dream revealed that WWE and Triple H conducted an investigation regarding the accusations. However, the investigations led to no substantial evidence that could serve as evidence.

Following that, WWE tried to bring Dream back on WWE TV. Unfortunately, the evidence didn’t matter to the audience. They only focused on the vile accusations and immediately demanded Dream’s termination. Eventually, the company had to let him go.
“WWE gave me time, trying to distance me from the travesty of it all, and then they brought me back on a smaller scale to work with one of their mid-card guys. WWE, in the middle of cancel culture, found itself at a loss.”
At the end of the day, WWE had to focus on what was good for them as a company.

Reportedly, the fans didn’t keep their comments or blogs or any hateful messages on their profiles once WWE fired Dream.
