Dwayne Johnson was set to make a colossal storyline between his Black Adam and Henry Cavill’s Superman in DCEU. Unfortunately, the plans were scrapped when DC announced the studio had no plans for Cavill’s ‘Man of Steel’ in the future of the franchise. However, after appearing in the post-credits of Black Adam with a WWE Legend in 2022, the 40-year-old will star with John Cena in his next project. 

Apart from Black Adam in 2022, we saw Cavill as Sherlock Holmes in the film Enola Holmes too. However, this next project proves Cena is following in Johnson’s footsteps in Hollywood.

This is how John Cena is following the footsteps of Dwayne Johnson while working with Henry Cavill!

The 40-year-old British actor worked in two films last year, i.e. Black Adam and Enola Holmes. Moreover, while we are halfway through 2023, Henry Cavill is ready for new movie projects and one of them is Argylle. In this movie, the former Man of Steel actor will share the screen with John Cena after working with another WWE Legend Dwayne Johnson.

As per a report by Variety which they shared a few days ago, Argylle is a spy thriller that will release on February 2nd, 2024. It is a star-studded film as apart from Cena and Cavill, the movie includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Surely, with all these star-studded cast the movie will be a most awaited one. Moreover, like The Rock tried to revamp Cavill’s DCEU legacy as Superman in Black Adam, Cena’s presence will also do the same after Fast X. The Cenation Leader is one of the most followed WWE stars and actors in the world. Hence, Cena’s stardom will be a huge asset for the film’s promotion and success and might once again kick-start Henry Cavill’s career post DCEU fiasco last year.

Unlike Black Adam, Argylle will have Cavill as the main attraction. However, if Cena’s role impresses the critics and the audience, the 16-time world champion’s success will help Cavill too. Subsequently, apart from this, the WWE legend has a lot of movies in the pipeline and this is one of the major ones.

Upcoming movies of John Cena

Argylle will mainly center around Cavill’s character, who is a super-spy whose job takes him across the U.S., London and other exotic locations. However, John Cena’s addition will have eyeballs in him too. Nevertheless, except for this film ‘Super Cena’ has more movies releasing shortly.

Cena will be on the silver screen next month when “Barbie” hits theaters, in addition to future roles in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” and “Ricky Stanicky.” Moreover, we cannot ignore the success of recent FAST X, Peacemaker, and The Suicide Squad.
