Following Dwayne Johnson’s Career Advice 6 Years Ago, Ex-WWE Star Finally Lands Her First Lead Action Role

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has always made it a point to share his wisdom and his two cents on what it means to be successful. The actor is set to become a billionaire soon and is involved in multiple business ventures. He has set himself apart as someone who constantly challenges himself to thrive in uncharted territory, and we respect him for it. American actress and wrestler, Eva Marie, recently testified to the value of Johnson’s mentorship.

The actress talked about how ‘The Rock’ gave her important advice regarding what it takes to survive in show business.

Johnson’s success story from WWE to Hollywood has led to other stars wanting his guidance, and it’s not surprising. It took Johnson only five years after starting off as a wrestler in 1996 to secure a role in The Mummy Returns (2001). One such star is the former WWE Diva Eva Marie. The now-Hollywood actress was once a model and pro wrestler. However, when she arrived at WWE, she also had the ambition to get her big break on the big screen. Working with WWE, Marie gained experience and eventually set up a meeting with Dwayne Johnson’s manager.

Speaking with ‘USA Today’ in 2017, Marie revealed the advice that she received from Johnson when she had a conversation with him after meeting his manager and agent. She said, “What I took away from that conversation is ‘no matter what, do the work’. It doesn’t matter. Put 110% in everything you do when you walk into a room. Always be yourself with that shine and then once you walk out that door, let it go. Everything is going to fall into place when it’s time.”

Johnson, being who he is, went all in and gave tips that he knew would help Marie. This also wasn’t the first time that he shared them. It looks like Marie followed his advice as she eventually got a role in the 2017 movie ‘Inconceivable’.

Eva Marie talks about her latest Hollywood project

In an interview, Eva Marie revealed that she recently completed a Hollywood project named ‘Phoenix’.

The former wrestler revealed that she features as the lead actress in the film and that it could make it to the screens this year if everything goes according to plan. However, she also revealed, “I don’t know where exactly it will live in the sense of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, but that is a little something that I have been up to.”

Although not much detail is known about her upcoming projects, it looks like Eva Marie is taking Johnson’s advice seriously.
