Cody Rhodes has currently been standing at gunpoint of the WWE Universe’s growing frustration over his newly minted world title run. Bringing the Undisputed Universal championship honor to the Rhodes lineage, The American Nightmare might have delighted his departed dad watching over from above. However, he hardly could sustain the overwhelming fame. Within just a few weeks, fans started to turn on him for not meeting their expectations on weekly TV. Capitalizing on the same sentiment, WWE veteran Kelvin Nash chalked out a downgrading path for the 38-year-old that could have drawn more money for the promotion.
Nash would have preferred if The Rock would continue wreaking havoc on the former AEW star, costing him his title just the next day on Raw following WrestleMania.

The Final Boss toned down his tyrannical self on Raw after WrestleMania to congratulate Cody Rhodes for his monumental victory against The Tribal Chief. Dwayne Johnson had a couple of nice things to say about the Rhodes family, who had constantly been subject to his wrath during those intense pre-WrestleMania buildup days. The two generational talents shared a soul-soothing moment swapping their belts (The Undisputed Universal WWE World Championship belt and People’s Championship belt) before The Rock handed a thoughtful present to Rhodes.
However, despite all the sweet gestures, Brahma Bull slightly hinted at his unfinished story against the new champion, noting that he’ll be back soon. But WWE legend Kevin Nash wanted more heat, to the point of him stripping Rhodes off his title right there.
Speaking in the latest episode of Kliq episode, the veteran noted, ”Rock said, I’ll be back you know it’s I think there would have been a much bigger period at the end of that sentence had he have f***ed him and then left. And then the anticipation of him coming back right would have been 10 times more.”

He further weighed in on how Cody Rhodes, finishing his story, is an overrated storyline. Nevertheless, the storyline between The Rock and Rhodes is one for the future. Moving ahead to the present, the current Undisputed Universal WWE Champion is all set to put his title on the line at WWE Backlash in France.
Rhodes in high spirits ahead of crucial title defense match
Cody Rhodes has a clear vision set in his mind regarding his first title defense. The wrestler views it as a sizeable chance to let people know what he’s made of. Appearing on Cheap Heat, the champion elucidated, ‘‘I told AJ Styles, this is a dream match for some people, sure. To me, it’s a legit must-win. Not just must win, but must dominate. Must show something.”
