Dwayne Johnson was recently announced to play the role of Mark Kerr in an upcoming sports biopic. For now, the movie hasn’t yet received a release date. Foxcatcher is another loved Hollywood sports biopic based on the lives of gold medalist wrestlers Mark and Dave Schultz, played by Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo, respectively.

According to a Hollywood actor, The Smashing Machine could prove extremely profitable for the WWE legend and end up surpassing all these movies.

Sports biopics aren’t something that the former wrestler has had experience with. Most of his movies have been action-comedies with a similar touch to all of his characters. However, since this time things will be different, Hollywood insider Jeffery Sneider believes Johnson will receive an award for it.

According to Sneider, The Smashing Machine could even land The Brahma Bull an Oscar nomination. He also believes that this would be a wake-up call for him to try out different genres that could get him more nominations and praise.
