2023 was going great for Charlotte Flair. After a massive win at Survivor Series WarGames, she was flying high. She triumphed within the ring and even outside as she buried the hatchet with Becky Lynch. However, near the end of the year, she suffered a shocking injury that would put her on hiatus for the next nine months.

Family, Friends & Fans,

She also wrote, “This was a huge blow to me mentally and obviously physically going into 2024.” Due to the injury, Flair will be absent from the WWE for most of 2024, including The Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and many other PLEs. This is bad news for the WWE Universe, who were expecting Flair to have another title shot by going up against either Becky Lynch or Rhea Ripley.

Flair suffered her knee injury during a SmackDown match against Asuka. This took place in the month of December and came as a massive shock to the WWE Universe. Just a month away from The Royal Rumble 2024, she tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Requiring surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation period, the WWE announced that she would not be appearing for the next nine months.
How Flair’s absence will affect the storylines
The injury is a significant blow to the WWE’s women’s division. With Flair being one of the company’s top stars, her current feud with Damage CTRL will be placed on hold. She underwent surgery in early January 2024 and is expected to miss WrestleMania 40 and SummerSlam 2024.

During her absence, Damage CTRL might be pushed to take over the women’s division with little to no pushback from the other women on the roster. The angle the WWE could go with is the triumphant hero’s return where Flair could be seen beating the group when she makes her return to the WWE.
