The investigation of Vince McMahon is still ongoing over the allegations that he paid a certain amount of money to a former female employee with whom he previously had an affair. Mr. McMahon has come into the news for the first time over the same allegations.
Rita Chatterton, the first female WWE referee who worked as Rita Marie, had opened up about the same back. Chatterton had publicly accused Vince McMahon of sexual assault in 1992 during her appearance on Geraldo Rivera’s Now ‘It Can Be Told’ TV show.

However, with the recent Wall Street Journal article about Vince McMahon, Rita Chatterton has come to light again. Recently, appearing on the Cheap Heat Production podcast, former WWE referee commented on whether she would be interested in returning to the wrestling business.
She said, “I would consider it. It would depend on what it was. I never completely closed the door. I would never go back to work for Vince McMahon, okay, never. But that doesn’t mean I hate wrestling. That doesn’t mean I’m down on wrestling. In fact, I have a little girl right now that I’m training, I’m helping to train.”
It clearly shows she is willing to make a return to business as a referee or any official role offered. However, she will not return to WWE to work for Mr. McMahon. As in the podcast she expressed, she still gets nightmares of the alleged incident and has not totally overcome the same.

It did not surprise Rita Chatterton to see Vince McMahon in papers again
The Chairperson of WWE Vince McMahon has stepped down from his position over the ongoing investigations. Stephanie McMahon has taken over the role of interim chairperson meanwhile. However, Rita Chatterton shared her thoughts after Mr. McMahon’s name popped up again in the news.
She said, “Next thing I know, McMahon was in the papers again for paying hush money. And Mr. Reeseman called me and asked me a few questions. I answered a few questions. Next thing I know, we’re in the magazine and this thing is going crazy.”
