It hasn’t been 12 hours since Vince McMahon announced his decision to retire from WWE via Twitter. After four decades of carrying the company, the boss man is finally hanging up his boots.
While Vince McMahon is regarded as one of the greatest bookers in the wrestling industry, not everyone agrees. In a wide world of pro wrestling, there are many who think of Vince McMahon as behind the times. And this problem is not only reflective of people in the business, but the public as well.

As social media is growing and wrestling Twitter has taken a hold of wrestlers and promotions, many dark truths have come to the surface. The malpractices and lazy work by mega superstars plummeted them to the ground. And the same has happened to Vince McMahon. It isn’t rare to see someone on the internet taking a jab at repetitive booking or storylines in WWE.
EC3 talks about his relationship with Vince McMahon
In a recent interview with Monte & Pharoah, former NXT superstar, EC3 opened up about his relationship with Vince McMahon. He said, “It wasn’t one really, talked to him a couple of times. I would say, the man I wanted him to be and expected him to be, the leader that I heard he was from the past, I did not see. I saw more of a shell of that sort of feeble old man. As opposed to the leader you’d want to run through a wall for.”

For a little more context, EC3 was a former NXT superstar who garnered a lot of praise from Triple H. His matches with Velveteen Dream and Adam Cole were a few highlights from his brief career. His biggest match during his run was the ladder match to inaugurate the first NXT North American Champion. But things would fall apart for the former Impact World Champion when RAW picked him as their draft pick.

To Vince McMahon‘s credit, he tried to package EC3 in Alexa Bliss’s talk show, but that didn’t go anywhere. Instead, a concussion and a pandemic later, he would find himself on the receiving end of the first Black Wednesday. For the uninitiated, Black Wednesday is the massive roster firings that WWE fans got accustomed to in the pandemic era.
